In a major victory for Ohio communities, 122 individuals were arrested as part of "Operation Spring Cleaning" — a statewide crackdown on human trafficking led by the Ohio Attorney General's office in May 2026. This operation is a powerful reminder that law enforcement is actively fighting trafficking right here in our state.

About Operation Spring Cleaning
Operation Spring Cleaning was a coordinated, multi-agency effort targeting human trafficking networks across Ohio. The operation resulted in 122 arrests and reflects the ongoing commitment of Ohio law enforcement to protect vulnerable individuals — especially children and youth — from exploitation.
This kind of operation takes months of planning, coordination between local, state, and federal agencies, and the courage of survivors and community members who come forward with information.
Why This Matters for Our Community
Ohio remains one of the top states in the nation for human trafficking activity, largely due to its major interstate corridors and urban centers. Operations like this send a clear message: traffickers will be found, arrested, and prosecuted.
But law enforcement cannot do it alone. Every member of our community plays a role in identifying and reporting suspicious activity.
